Kool & The Gang are an American R&B based in Jersey City, New Jersey, the band currently consists of eponymous bassist Robert 'Kool' Bell, his brother Ronald, George Brown, Dennis Thoma, Shawn McQuiller, Lavell Evans, Curtis "Fitz" Williams, Michael Ray, Timothy Horton, Amir Bayyan, and Louis Taylor, though many have passed through the Kool & The Gang ranks, such as former lead singer James 'J.T' Taylor.

Formed in 1964, the band released their debut album, ‘Kool and the Gang’, in 1969, and hit #10 in the Billboard Hot 200, with album ‘Celebrate!’ in 1980.

They are best known for tracks such as Jungle Boogie, Ladies' Night Too Hot, Celebration, Get Down On It, Steppin' Out, Joanna and many many more.
