Suzanne Vega is an American folk-rock singer-songwriter and producer from Santa Monica, California.

Starting her musical career in 1982, she signed to A&M and released her self-titled debut album in 1985, but it was her second release, 1987's ‘Solitude Standing’ that gave her international fame, reaching #2 in the UK's Official Albums Chart.

Vega's last studio album was 2016's 'Lover, Beloved: Songs from an Evening with Carson McCullers'. Her last record, meanwhile, was the live LP 'An Evening of New York Songs and Stories' that arrived in September 2020
